Women are more than men in Armenia

Women are more than men by 3 percent in Armenia, News.am reports with reference to the country's National Statistics Service.

Men hit 48.5 percent, while women 51.5 percent of population. The average age of men is 33.3, while women - 36.7. Children under age 15 hit 19.6 percent last year.

Over 452 children and pensioners accounted for every 1000 citizen of working age, as compared to 456 early in 2010.

Over 34.4 percent of population lives in the capital. Armenia's Ararat, Armavir, Lori, Kotayk and Shirak regions have 8.6 - 8.7percent of population respectively, Gegharkunik 7.4 percent, Aragatsotn, Syunik and Tavush 4.1-4.7 percent, while only 1.7 percent of population lives in Vayots Dzor Region.
