An increase in the number of crimes was recorded in the first quarter of the current year, News.am reported.
4,322 crimes were registered during this period, whereas the figure for last year was 3,968, according to the press service of the police.
The number of medium crimes increased by four, totaling 1,370. The number of violent crimes increased greatly, totaling 746 versus 526 for the first quarter of last year. Meanwhile, the number of reported serious crimes had reduced from 40 to 31. 19 crimes involving firearms were reported during the mentioned period against 23 crimes over the same period last year.
2,280 crimes were reported in Yerevan during the reporting period compared to 2103 cases in the same period last year.
