Armenia's national debt amounted to $ 4.205 billion as of March 31, 2013, ARKA reported referring to the Deputy Minister of Finance and Paymaster General of Armenia Atom Janjughazyan.
According to him, the government debt accounts for $3.660 billion and the debt of the Central Bank is $546 million. Foreign debt amounts to $3.051 billion, while domestic debt is $609 million.
According to the Deputy Finance Minister's predictions, by the end of the year the total national debt of Armenia will amount to $ 4.394 billion, or about 42.9 per cent of the GDP, including the internal debt in the amount of $ 667 million, or about 6.5 per cent of the GDP and the external debt is about 3.203 billion U.S. dollars, or 31.3 per cent of the GDP.
