The Armenian National Statistics Service has recently published a report on 'Poverty and food security, January- September 2013'. The data on the daily food consumption of the country's population is indicated, according to news.am. website.
It turns out that the average daily food consumed by Armenians was only 2169 calories in 2012. The 2013 data has not been prepared yet.
A daily rate is 2232 kcal per capita according to the minimum consumer basket. That is, the actual figure is less than the norm by 63 calories or 97.2 percent.
As for Yerevan, there is an opinion that life in the capital is better than in the provinces.
