Georgia, Tbilisi / Тrend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The head of the pre-election headquarters of the Georgian businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili, brought a statement to the Central Election Committee signed by candidate for the presidential elections from London.
Giorgi Jvania stated in the interview to journalists in the airport that Patarkatsishvili asked to withdraw his candidature for the presidential elections
"Patarkatsishvili's statement will be submitted to the Central Election Committee. The statement concerning withdrawal of the candidature of Patarkatsishvili will be officially announced on 4 January a day before the elections," Jvania said.
Presidential candidate Badri Patarkatsishvili made a decision to withdraw his candidacy from running at the early presidential elections on 27 December.
Jvania said that Patarkatsishvili is ready to finance opposition which may oppose Michael Saakashvili, a candidate for the presidential elections.
