Georgia, European Union to Discuss Introduction of European Police to Abkhazia
Georgia, Tbilisi, 28 May / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Georgia discusses the issue on replacement of the Russian peacemakers with European police with the European Union, Giorgi Baramidze, and Georgian State Minister on Integration to Europe, stated.
"Peacemaking process should be started in the conflict zone," Baramidza said.
"The current Abkhaz based Russian peacemakers cannot provide security in the region and therefore the refugees in Abkhazia should be put under control of European Police," the State Minister said.
Baramidze stated that the UN has proved that by deployment of troops IN Abkhazia by Russia, as well as establishment of ties between Moscow and separatists prove the Russia does not take neutral position in the conflict zone in Georgia.
