US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived Thursday in France on her way to Tbilisi for a stopover visit and consultations with President Nicolas Sarkozy over the crisis in Georgia, reported dpa.
The Rice-Sarkozy talks were taking place in the French Mediterranean presidential holiday residence of Fort Bregancon. Rice had previous warned Moscow that violations of a Tuesday ceasefire accord in the southern Caucasus would lead to Russia's deeper isolation.
Rice stated earlier that she was travelling Friday to Tbilisi in support of Georgia and its democratically-elected government.
