Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili will not appeal to the president with a request to provide him with dual citizenship, his press secretary Maya Panjikidze said at a press briefing today.
"The second method was proposed for Ivanishvili," she said. "The Justice Ministry advises Ivanishvili to appeal the Georgian president to provide him with second citizenship. In this case, only one person, namely the president can resolve this issue. As Bidzina Ivanishvili
has been deprived of Georgian citizenship by the President once, it seems "allegorical" to appeal him for citizenship."
The Civil Registry Agency has denied Ivanishvili Georgian citizenship.
In particular, it was stated that Ivanishvili may appeal to the Georgian president with a request about dual citizenship.
