Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan.7 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /

Georgian Former Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili will be put on the international wanted list, the country's Prosecutor's Office told Trend on Monday.

The Prosecutor's Office will appeal to the country's Interior Ministry with appropriate request in the near future.

According to the procedure, after the court chooses a two-month pre-trial incarceration as a preventive measure against Zurab Adeishvili, the Prosecutor's Office should make a special resolution to the Georgian Interior Ministry, after which the accused will be declared wanted.

Tbilisi City Court granted another petition of the Prosecutor's Office and suspended the validity of three foreign passports and identity cards of Georgian citizenship issued to Adeishvili. The defence is going to challenge the decision of the court of first instance.

According to Adeishvili's lawyer Gocha Svanidze, he is unaware of his client's whereabouts and he does not know whether he asked for political asylum in another country.

According to unconfirmed reports, the former Justice Minister asked for political asylum in Belgium.

Adeishvili is accused of abuse of power and ill-treatment of prisoners. The next trial concerning him will take place on Jan.28.
