Georgia, Tbilisi, September 19/Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/
A protest action against the construction of the Khudoni power plant and other large hydro power stations will take place in Tbilisi at 12:30 on the initiative of Lasha Chkhartishvili, the author of ecological part of Georgian Dream coalition's pre-election programme, 'Association of Human Rights Defenders' and other non-governmental organisations of Georgia.
The action will take place simultaneously with public discussions about the impact of the Khudoni power plant construction project on the environment.
The population of Svaneti region where the hydro power plant will be constructed have refused to discuss it stating that they will not allow the flooding of several villages of the region for the new reservoir.
The Svaneti population intends to protest against the construction of the hydro power station by all possible means.
Khudoni power plant should be the second largest hydro power plant in Georgia after the Inguri hydro power plant.
