Georgia's exports of copper ores from January through September 2021 amounted to 288,068 tons, worth $571.7 million, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The current figure decreased by 3.2 percent, compared to $590.8 million (355,785 tons) over the same period of 2020.
Georgia’s copper ores exports (Jan. through Sept. 2021) accounted for the following countries:
China – $395.7 million (208,552 tons);
Bulgaria – $137.9 million (60,793 tons);
Spain – $34.5 million (18,300 tons);
South Korea – $3.5 million (419 tons).
Thus, China ranks first among Georgian copper ores export destinations from January through September 2021, while increasing the imports by 30.4 percent, compared to $303.3 million (206,530 tons) over first 9 months of 2020.
Meanwhile, total Georgian exports from January through September 2021 amounted to $2.9 billion, which is an increase of 24 percent, compared to $2.4 billion over the same period of 2020.
