Georgian tangerine exports increase three times

The export volume of Georgia’s tangerines from September 1 through November 21, 2021, amounted to 3,512 tons, which is an increase of 153 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Facebook publication of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The export value of Georgia’s tangerines over the reporting period of 2021 totaled $1.6 million, which is an increase of 142 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, the ministry said.

According to the report, tangerines produced in the reporting period of 2021 were mainly exported to Russia (1,703 tons), Armenia (1,346 tons), Ukraine (357 tons), Slovenia (28 tons), and Kyrgyzstan (20 tons).

Meanwhile, based on the previous statistics, Georgian exports of tangerine from September 1 through November 14 increased more than 3 times, compared to the same period of 2020, and amounted to 1,491 tons, while the value of exports totaled $613,000, which is an increase of 149 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020.

The main importers of Georgian tangerines were Armenia (820 tons), Russia (526 tons), Ukraine (135 tons) and Slovenia (10 tons).
