The turnover in Georgia’s business sector in the third quarter of 2021 increased by 38.5 percent, compared to 29.2 billion Georgian lari ($9.3 billion) over the same period of 2020, and amounted to 40.5 billion Georgian lari ($12.9 billion), Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The volume of the business sector turnover according to the type of economic activity (third quarter of 2021):
Wholesale and retail trade; repair of vehicles – $4.7 billion (36.5-percent share in total trade);
Entertainment and recreation – $4.2 billion (32.4-percent share in total trade);
Manufacturing – $1.2 billion (9.9-percent share in total trade);
Construction – $732.4 million (5.8-percent share in total trade);
Transportation and storage – $541.4 million (4.2-percent in total trade).
The production value in the Georgian business sector in the third quarter of 2021 totaled 15 billion Georgian lari ($4.8 billion), which is an increase of 29 percent, compared to 11.6 billion Georgian lari ($3.7 billion) over the same period of 2020.
The business sector production value according to the type of economic activity (third quarter of 2021):
Manufacturing – $1.1 billion (24.2-percent share in total production);
Wholesale and retail trade; repair of vehicles – $906.1 million (19.3-percent share in total production);
Construction – $809 million (16.8-percent share in total production);
Transportation and storage – $388.3 million (8.3-percent share in total production).
