By Maryana Akhmedova – Trend:

Georgia’s National Agency for State Property (NASP) plans to privatize a total of 400 million Georgian lari ($137.9 million) worth of state property in 2022, Giorgi Dugladze, the Chairman of the NASP, said, Trend reports via Georgian media.

“Among the property subject to privatization are state-owned enterprises, agricultural and non-agricultural lands, and others,” he said.

NASP also eyes implementing new initiatives and projects that will simplify the existing legislative processes in the Agency, Dugladze added.

According to Dugladze, the “100 Investment Offers for Business” program, which was expanded in 2021 in response to the economic challenges Georgia faced, resulted in the selling of 431 objects worth more than 293 million Georgian lari ($101 million).

Some 156 auctions have already been announced under the program in 2022.

Within the framework of the “Enterprise Georgia” state program, real estate was transferred to 128 beneficiaries, with the expected investment amount of more than 232 million Georgian lari ($80 million), while the employment rate is up to 11,000 people.
