BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. Money transfers from Georgia to Azerbaijan in March 2022 amounted to $1.6 million, which is an increase of 14.2 percent, compared to $1.4 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The same figure also increased by 49.5 percent, compared to March 2020 ($1.07 million), and by 82.3 percent, compared to the same month of 2019 ($906,000).
The volume of money transfers from Georgia to Azerbaijan in March 2022 also slightly increased by 6.6 percent, compared to February 2022 ($1.5 million).
However, the total volume of money outflow from Georgia in March 2022 totaled $23.9 million, which is a decrease of 3.6 percent, compared to $24.8 million over the same month of 2021, and 10.4 percent, compared to February 2022 ($26.7 million). The same figure increased by 17.1 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020 ($20.4 million)
Meanwhile, the total volume of remittances inflow to Georgia in March 2022 amounted to $193 million, which is an increase of 2.6 percent, compared to $188.1 million over the same month of 2021, and 53.4 percent, compared to March 2020 ($125.8 million).
