ITERA Resumed Gas Supply to Gardaban Area

ITERA National Gas Company decided to restructure the debt of Georgias regional gas distribution companies and resume gas supply to them. Trend Special Correspondent in Georgia reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy and Fuel, the gas supply resumed in respect to eastern Gardaban area.

Azerbaijani population is dominating in this area. The area locs told trend the gas supply suspension had made much harm to them as they operate hothouses that need gas to work in winter, so the gas issue is really critical for them.

The gas supply to eight more regions is resuming within a week. Officials of the Ministry said in case regions pay ITERA 600k lari (approx. $350k) they will have no problem with natural gas supply in winter.

On August 23, ITERA suspended natural gas supply to Georgian gas distribution companies that provide fuel to the entire country. The supply suspension is explained with regional companies debt in amount of $6mln.
