Reams of written and digital data found with al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden during the operation that left him dead promises to provide a major boost in US intelligence operations against the terrorist network, reported US media Wednesday.
US forces found a host of written material, along with five computers, 10 hard drives and more than 100 storage devices, like DVDs and USB sticks, after they killed bin Laden early Monday, reported US media Wednesday.
The revelations also showed that bin Laden had 500 euros (745 dollars) and two telephone numbers sewn into his clothing, reported the Politico website, indicating that he was prepared to go on the move at short notice, dpa reported.
The new details were trickling out after intelligence agents briefed members of the US Congress Wednesday morning.
One US official said they expect the confiscated data to yield useful operational data, including hints at the whereabouts of other al-Qaeda leaders, once it is analyzed by the Central Intelligence Agency.
