Syria has tightened security on its borders with Lebanon and Turkey to prevent anti-government activists and injured people from escaping, opposition sources said Sunday, dpa reported.
"Overnight clashes in Kseir, (15 kilometres from the border with Lebanon) near the flashpoint city of Homs, forced many to flee into Lebanon," one activist based in Beirut said on condition of anonymity.
He added that Syria had closed its north-western border with Turkey, and declared a 20-kilometre-long area that links the border with the restive province of Idlib, a military zone.
