The opposition Syrian National Council has warned that the actions of the security forces risk radicalizing society, a news report said Wednesday dpa reported.
"Every day in Syria from 150 to 200 martyrs are killed," the council's president Abdulbaset Sieda was quoted as saying in an interview the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat.
"If no solution is found, this situation can lead in the medium term to the spread of various radical ideologies in all segments of society."
Such a development could also pose a threat to neighbouring countries, Sieda warned.
Western observers have in recent months expressed concern about the activities of armed Islamic brigades in Syria.
