A 7.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded on Thursday off the coast of New Caledonia (an overseas territory of France) in the Pacific Ocean, Trend reports with reference to TASS.
The epicenter of this earthquake was located 279 km to the South-East from Tadine town, where approximately 7,500 people live. The source was located at the depth of 10 km. A tsunami threat has been declared.
Initially, it was reported that the magnitude was 7.2, but later it was corrected.
