TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 14. Uzbekistan exported 97,200 tons of cabbage in the amount of $30.5 million in 2023, Trend reports.
According to data from Uzbekistan’s Statistics Agency, this figure represents a decrease of 35.2 percent compared to the previous year (150,000 tons in 2022). At the same time, the country exported cabbages worth $39.8 million in 2022.
The total volume of exported cabbages amounted to 247,200 tons in the amount of $70.3 million from January 2022 through December 2023.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan exported 94,000 tons of cabbage in the amount of $22.2 million from January through March 2024. This indicator has increased by 270 percent compared to the same period last year (25,400 tons in January–March 2023).
In total, Uzbekistan exported 375,300 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $219.8 million from January through March 2024. This figure has increased by 72.4 percent (157,700 tons) compared to the same period last year (217,600 tons in January–March 2023).
Pakistan accounted for the largest volume of horticultural product exports from Uzbekistan, with a total volume of 79,100 tons worth $57.6 million. Russia ranked second with 85,500 tons of exports worth $55.1 million, followed by Kazakhstan with 86,100 tons of horticultural products exported worth $23 million from January through March 2024.
