Trade turnover between Georgia, Tajikistan declines

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 14. Trade turnover between Georgia and Tajikistan totaled $7.430 million from January through March 2024, which is a 24.2 percent decrease compared to the $9.814 million recorded during the same period in 2023, Trend reports.

The National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat) reported that exports to Tajikistan stood at $7.271 million, decreasing by 25.9 percent compared to the first quarter of 2023 ($9.814 million).

In particular, Georgian reexports to Tajikistan amounted to $6.130 million during the reporting months, a decline of 28.9 percent over January–March 2023's figures ($8.625 million).

Meanwhile, imports from Tajikistan reached $159,200 this year, with no imports recorded from January through March 2023.

Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Georgia amounted to $37.281 million in 2023, which marks a 62 percent increase compared to $22.923 million in 2022. Exports to Tajikistan reached $37.012 million, while imports amounted to $268,630.
