Israeli police on Wednesday fired tear gas and stun grenades to disperse demonstrators protesting a planned march in the Arab-Israeli city of Uhm el-Fahm by ultra-right-wing activists, witnesses said, DPA reported.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The demonstrators were protesting the planned entry into the northern Israeli city of the anti-Arab activists to mark the 20th anniversary of their spiritual and political leader Rabbi Meir Kahane.
Around 1,000 police, clad in riot gear, were deployed in Uhm el- Fahm, ahead of the march.
