Five dead in US shooting rampage

( Sundaynews ) - At least five people are dead after a gunman went on a shooting rampage at a house in the Midwestern US state of Wisconsin.

The shooter - a law enforcement officer -was later shot and killed, according to the Oconto County Sheriff's department.

The shootings took place in the town of Crandon, in the north of the state.

"It's a pretty tragic situation here," said Forest County Supervisor Tom Vollmar .

"There are five or six people dead."

Other details were not immediately available.

The neighbourhood where the shooting occurred has been blocked off, Vollmar said.
