( dpa ) - Thai Queen Sirikit was admitted to hospital at the weekend for treatment of bronchitis, media reports said Monday.
Queen Sirikit, 75, was admitted to Chulalongkorn Hospital early Sunday, suffering from a fever and coughing, the Royal Household Bureau announced.
Doctors have suggested she remain in hospital for several days for a complete physical examination.
Sirikit is the wife of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, 80, Thailand's monarch for the past 61 years.
The king's elder sister, Princess Galyani Vadhana, died on January 2 from abdominal cancer. She was 84.
