Author Of Dre Book Denies Involvement In Weekend Violence

( CM ) - The author of a new DR. DRE biography has slammed reports linking his recent book launch to the murder of a man at a party in Tukwila, Washington.

Bruce Williams and his co-writer Donnell Alexander appeared at the book shop on Saturday (12Apr08) to sign copies of their highly-anticipated tome Rollin' With Dre: An Insider's Tale of the Rise, Fall and Rebirth of West Coast Hip Hop, which explores Williams' account of the 10 years he spent as the rapper's confidante.

Reports claimed an afterparty for the book was then held at local golf course Gordon's On The Green, where one man was killed and another seriously injured after violence erupted at the venue at around 2am on Sunday (13Apr08).

But Williams insists the disruption had nothing to do with his book launch - because the party wasn't even for him.

He tells HipHopDX.com, "We got there at about 1:00am and it was packed with people (but) not one thing about Rollin with Dre on the wall. No one even got on the mic and said we were there."
