Police on Monday sought the public's help for clues into the murders of five people at a makeshift encampment for the homeless in Los Angeles, dpa reported.
Officers discovered the bodies of three men and two women near 405 Freeway after receiving an anonymous tip-off. Police have not identified the victims, some of whom were found with multiple gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles Times reported that police had no suspects.
Residents of a nearby apartment block apparently heard bursts of gunfire "that sounded like fireworks" early Sunday morning.
The murders came just three weeks after another gruesome homicide in which a homeless man was doused with gasoline and set on fire.
