Chiang Mai mayor arrives in Tehran

Chiang Mai Mayor Deuntemduang Na Chiengmai from Taiwan accompanied by her two deputies arrived in Tehran on Sunday evening to attend the First Asian Mayors Forum, TehranTimes reported.

The Taiwanese delegation was warmly welcomed by Mohammad-Mehdi Golmakani, the health advisor to Tehran mayor, at Imam Khomeini Airport.

On her arrival at the airport, Deuntemduang said, "It is my first trip to Iran," expressing satisfaction over her presence in Tehran.

Deuntemduang, who took over mayoral post about two years, expressed hope to have a united Asia.

""This forum provides the invaluable opportunity for policymakers of major cities in Asia to establish friendship and exchange successful experiences which will definitely be beneficial to all participants,"" Deuntemduang told reporters.

The forum is scheduled to be held at Tehran Milad Tower from November 19 to 20.
