Chinese VP predicts beautiful future of China-Colombia cooperation

Visiting Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping proposed a beautiful future of China-Colombia mutually beneficial cooperation at a breakfast meeting here on Monday morning.
Xi said at the breakfast meeting with entrepreneurs from both sides that efforts should be made together as to elevate the bilateral ties of economy and commerce towards new altitude, Xinhua reported.
Praising the remarkable achievements obtained, Xi said that China and Colombia show respective advantages in fields of resources, capital, technology and market and are strongly complementary one to the other.
In the past decade, the commercial exchanges between China and Colombia grew more than 30 times to last year's 4.1 billion U.S. dollars.
He proposed work to be done in three aspects as follows: first, China and Colombia should continue optimizing the commercial structure to maintain development of bilateral exchange at a stable rhythm.
Secondly, Xi said the range of cooperation fields needs to be amplified to strengthen collaboration in investment.
Thirdly, the mechanism of bilateral cooperation, as well as the quality of governmental services, needs to be further improved, in the interest of pushing China-Colombia relations towards a new stage of cooperation, he said.
Colombian Vice President Francisco Santos was also present at the meeting, along with more than 200 officials and enterprise representatives from China and Colombia.
