A bomb exploded in Taliban's former stronghold Kandahar in south Afghanistan Tuesday morning, wounding two civilians, police said.
"Militants detonated an explosive device by remote control in Kandahar city, the capital of Kandahar province, at 9:25 a.m. local time, injuring two persons. Both are innocent civilians," a police officer at the site of incident Rahmatullah Khan Safi told Xinhua.
Kandahar, a hotbed of Taliban militants, has been the scene of increasing insurgency over the past couple of years.
