It is not important who will win elections. The important is the high voter turnout, Iranian television channel quoted Iran's Supreme Religious Leader Ali Khamenei as saying during a visit to Kurdistan province on May 12.
He said high voter turnout will consolidate basis of the Islamic Republic of Iran. "High voter turnout will contribute to Iranian peoples' reputation and strengthen country's resistance against enemies," the religious leader said.
The second important task for the people in the elections is to elect worthy candidate, Khamenei said.
Iran will hold presidential elections on June 12. Chairman of the National Confidence Party and Former Speaker Mehdi Karroubi and Former Prime Minister Mir Hussein Moussavi have been nominated from reformists. Incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Former Head of theArmy of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (Sepah) Mohsun Rezayi have been nominated from the ruling Conservative Party.
