Italian Serie A club Bari owners and American real estate businessman Timothy Barton have reached a preliminary take-over agreement, Xinhua reported.
The club website Tuesday released the news and a statment said that the sale should be completed by the end of October.
Bari returned to the first division this season after eight years in the second tier.
Barton started out in the family real estate business in Connecticut. His business career took off when he moved to Texas and began specialising in major land developments after founding his company, JMJ Holdings, in 1990.
