Bangladesh has confirmed 30 new A/ H1N1 flu cases in the past three days, bringing the total number of the new flu to 311, a senior health official said on Tuesday, Xinhua reported.
Head of the country's Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research under the Health Ministry Mahmudur Rahman told Xinhua "None of the newly detected patients are in severe condition."
The Bangladeshi government has asked hospitals to treat anyone who displays symptoms of A/H1N1 flu rather than waste time to have test report, hours after the virus claimed its first victim in the country on Aug. 31.
The second A/H1N1 flu death was reported Friday night at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
The country's Health Ministry has announced that an individual having prescription from a registered medical practitioner can buy the anti-viral drugs. And as the number of A/H1N1 flu cases was showing a declining trend, the government at a meeting with drug manufacturers on Sunday cut the price of anti-viral Oseltamivir by 30 taka to 150 taka (2.14 U.S. dollars) per pill.
