A policewoman was killed and another police officer wounded Thursday after being fired upon during a vehicle spot-check on a motorway outside Paris, BFM television reported.
The motorway was temporarily closed after the incident, DPA reported.
Some media reports said as many as five men were involved. They reportedly fled the scene in a van.
