A car bomb exploded in the southern city of
Kandahar Wednesday, damaging vehicles but no casualties were reported, an official said, DPA reported.
"There was a car blast in the parking lot of the Provincial Reconstruction Team which damaged around a dozen vehicles," the provincial governor's spokesman Zalmai Ayubi said.
The reconstruction team is responsible for development work in each province and works under military supervision.
Kandahar is considered the birthplace of the Taliban movement.
NATO and US military forces are planning a major offensive in the province.
