U.S. President Barack Obama on Wednesday extended his best wishes to British newlywed royal couple, Prince William and Catherine Middleton, the White House said.
During a meeting at the White House with British Prince Charles, Obama also affirmed the strength and depth of the alliance between the United States and Britain, said the statement, Xinhua reported.
Obama thanked Prince Charles for the "important contributions" that British forces are making in Afghanistan and Libya.
He looked forward to visiting Britain later this month, the statement added.
