Sixteen miners have died in an explosion in eastern Ukraine, officials said Friday, dpa reported.
The explosion happened around 915 metres underground at the pit in Sukhodilsk in the Donbass mining region, the Interfax news agency reported citing emergency workers.
The cause of the explosion which occurred during the night was not immediately known.
At least two other miners were injured and 10 were reported missing.
