Three young girls were laid to rest Saturday at separate services in Connecticut and Utah as the final victims of last week's school massacre were buried, local media reported.
Ana Grace Marquez-Greene, 6, and Josephine Gay, 7, were remembered in services that drew hundreds at churches in Newtown, Connecticut, the News Times paper reported. It took hours for mourners clad in Marquez-Greene's favourite colour, purple, to file into the church, the paper said, DPA reported.
Emilie Parker, 6, was buried in Ogden, Utah, where her family had lived before moving to Connecticut earlier this year, the newspaper said.
Communities across the United States had paused Friday to mark exactly one week since the shooting in which a lone gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. He had earlier killed his mother at the home they shared and then committed suicide at the school, police have said.
