Russian Helicopters holding company is taking part in the Russian national industrial exhibition "Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia - Iran 2015", which is being held under the supervision of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov in Tehran, December 21-23, Iranian Mehr News Agency reported.

Russian Helicopters will discuss a launch and development of the after-sales servicing system with Iranian Helicopter Support and Renewal Company (IHSRC) (a.k.a. PANHA as in its Persian acronym). The servicing system will be based on the existing aircraft repairs plant and a service center. In mid-November, the parties signed contracts on delivery of spare parts and technical assistance in equipping the service and repair center for the Mi-8/17 civil helicopters.

There are more than 50 such helicopters in Iran, said Alexander Mikheev, the CEO of Russian Helicopters.

"We are planning to strengthen business ties with our partners in the Middle East and promote cooperation as to supplies of modern helicopters, after-sales service and modernization," said Mikheev.

Russian Helicopter's position in the Middle Eastern market has been traditionally strong. Today, there are more than 500 military and civil Soviet and Russian helicopters operating in the region. The core of the helicopter fleet is made of the legendary Mi-8/17 series, which is known for versatility and high performance characteristics throughout the world, he said.

During the exhibition, the holding company will showcase Russian civilian helicopters. The headliner of the exhibition is new Mi-171A2 helicopter; Ka-32A11VS and a light model Ka-226T will also be featured.

"Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia - Iran 2015" is organized by the ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation. The event is aimed at adding momentum to the development of Russian-Iranian trade and economic relations and boosting the positions of the Russian industry in Iran.

Russian Helicopters is the sole developer and manufacturer of helicopters in Russia, and is also one of just a few companies in the world possessing the ability to design, manufacture, test, and maintain modern civilian and military helicopters.

Russian Helicopters was created in 2007 and is a subsidiary of Oboronprom United Industrial Corporation, which is part of the Rostec State Corporation.

The company is among the world's leaders in the most promising and dynamically growing areas, including medium-to-heavy-lift and super-heavy-lift, as well as attack helicopters.

Russian Helicopter plants manufacture around 35 percent of the world's fleet of combat helicopters, around 17 percent of the world's fleet of super-heavy-lift helicopters (i.e., those having a maximum gross takeoff weight of more than 20 tons), and 56 percent of the world's fleet of medium-to-heavy-lift helicopters (i.e., those having a maximum gross takeoff weight of between 8 and 15 tons).

The company competes successfully with the world's leading manufacturers, and is expanding its presence in the rapidly expanding markets of India, China, countries in Central and South America, Western Asia, and Africa.
