Russia will continue cooperation with Turkey on Syria, Sputnik reported quoting Andrei Kelin, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's European Cooperation Department, as saying Dec. 14.
“On one hand, Turkey follows the NATO path, on the other it has a range of interests in which we find joint sectors of cooperation with each other,” Kelin said.
The interaction and cooperation on Syria, among other areas, will continue, according to him.
The official called talks on the situation in Aleppo a “complicated tangle.”
“As far as I understand, it is much easier for us [Russia] to reach agreements with the Turkish side than with the US side,” he added.
