(Itar-Tass) - - A Russian-Israeli commission on trade and economic cooperation will discuss in Israel on Tuesday issues of strengthening mutually advantageous ties. On the same day, the sides will sign a protocol on the results of the meeting, reports Trend.

The Russian delegation is headed by Minister of Information Technologies and Communications Leonid Reiman. Upon the conclusion of the work of the commission, he will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and, probably, Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigor Lieberman.

As Leonid Reiman said earlier, in coming years, trade turnover between Russia and Israel will continue growing because the reached level of mutual relations doesn't reflect possibilities and the potential which our countries poses. Among the main directions of cooperation, the minister singled out telecommunications, information technologies and communications, as well as space researches, industrial innovations and diamond business.

Last year, the trade turnover of the two countries amounted to 1.87 billion dollars, and over the first eight months of the current year, it has reached 1.26 billion dollars.
