Jordan and Turkey have signed an agreement for cooperation in the area of nuclear energy, according to an official statement Thursday.
The accord was signed by Jordanian Energy Minister Khaled Touqan and the chairman of the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority, Zafer Alper, dpa reported.
Turkey is the 12th country with which Jordan has signed a nuclear cooperation agreement. Over the past two years, Amman has agreed to similar deals with France, China, South Korea, Canada, Russia, the United Kingdom, Spain, Argentina, Japan, Romania and Italy.
