Turkey must protect its internal stability, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan was quoted as saying by TRT Haber TV channel Oct. 8.

He said that internal stability is the guarantor of the growth of the Turkish economy.

"Chaos is observed in some neighboring countries [Syria and Iraq] today," he said. "This adversely affects other regional countries."

In early October the Kurds-populated Syrian town of Kobani, was taken under control by the IS. The move triggered mass protests among the Kurds in six provinces of Turkey against the country's non-intervention policy.

Following the protests, a curfew was declared in the provinces of Diyarbakir, Mardin, Siirt, Mus, Van, Batman.

The protests in Turkish regions forced lessons in schools of the country's Diyarbakir, Hakkari, Van, Batman and Tunceli provinces to be postponed.

Turkey also cancelled all of Oct. 8 flights of Turkish Airlines to Diyarbakir province due to deterioration of the situation in the south-east of the country.
