The police have started an anti-terrorist operation in Turkey's Istanbul city which has suffered several terrorist attacks in recent days, Milliyet newspaper reported on Apr.2.

Ten people have been detained during the operation, according to the preliminary data.

The detainees are suspected of having ties to the far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), the members of which have committed an armed attack on the Palace of Justice in Istanbul, as well as a police station.

This organization is responsible for terrorist acts committed in May 2013 in the city of Reyhanli in Turkey's Hatay province that left 46 people dead and 155 injured.

The DHKP-C members also committed a terrorist act in the building of the US embassy in Ankara. As a result of this attack, a security guard was killed and one person was injured.
