The Turkish government has announced its readiness to discuss the opposition’s proposal to reduce a ten percent threshold at the parliamentary election, Hayati Yazici, deputy chairman of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party said, the country’s media reported.

Yazici said that although currently there is no issue of reducing the ten percent threshold at the parliamentary election on the agenda, the Turkish government is ready to discuss any topics with the opposition.

In accordance with the laws of Turkey, parties that receive less than 10 percent of votes cannot be represented in the country’s parliament.

In 2019, Turkey will hold parliamentary, presidential and municipal election.
