Turkey increases exports to BSEC countries - ministry

From January through October 2019, Turkey’s exports to the countries of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) increased by 6.3 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $15.5 billion, a source in the Turkish Ministry of Trade told Trend Dec. 4.

“In October 2019, Turkey’s exports to the BSEC countries increased by 12.3 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching $1.8 billion,” the ministry said.

For the ten months of 2019, Turkey’s imports from the BSEC countries decreased by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $26.4 billion.

Turkish imports from the BSEC countries in October 2019 increased by 0.9 percent compared to October 2018, amounting to $2.6 million.

Turkey’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $34.5 billion in October 2019.

During the reporting month, Turkey's exports decreased by 1.5 percent compared to October 2018 and amounted to $16.3 billion. In turn, imports to Turkey increased by 10.7 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and equaled $18.1 billion.

Total value of Turkey's foreign trade turnover amounted to $320.9 billion from January through October 2019.
