Turkish ministry announces logistics center completion date in Van province

Tatvan logistics center in the Turkish province of Van will be ready for commissioning in 2022, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on March 17.

According to the ministry, total cost of the construction project makes up 100 million liras ($15.5 million).

“No foreign credit was involved to implement the project. Five million liras ($780,000) will be spent to build the logistics center”, the ministry said.

Some 25.2 billion liras ($3.9 billion) will be invested in 2020 in the construction of transport and infrastructure projects in the country, the ministry said previously.

A total of 2,994 projects will be implemented in 2020 in Turkey, 455 of which are in the field of transport and infrastructure. A total of 77.134 billion liras ($12 billion) were allocated for the projects.

Implementation of projects to create 12 logistics centers is also under way.

Eight of such centers are at design and tender stage, and the construction of another four ones continues. Foreign contractors may participate in the construction, as well.

The construction projects of 21 logistics centers in Turkey are planned to be implemented under the Government’s Target-2023 Plan. Nine logistics centers have already been commissioned.
