Export of ready-made clothing from Turkey to world markets plunged 20.1 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to slightly over $4.7 billion, Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend on May 13.
This indicator amounted to 9.3 percent of the country’s total export from Jan. through Apr. 2020.
“Turkey’s export of ready-made clothing to world markets amounted to $575.8 million in April 2020, which is 61.7 percent less compared to the same month of 2019,” the ministry said.
In April of this year, Turkey’s export of ready-made clothing to world markets amounted to 6.4 percent of the country’s total export.
“During the last twelve months (from April 2019 through April 2020), Turkey exported ready-made clothing worth more than 16.4 billion,” added the ministry.
