Turkey sees surge in grain exports to Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept.16

The value of export of grain and legumes from Turkey to Georgia increased by 53 percent from January through August 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, amounting to $29.7 million, the Ministry of Trade of Turkey told Trend.

In August 2021, the export of grain and legumes from Turkey to Georgia surged by 95.3 percent compared to August 2020, reaching $3.74 million, the report said.

Turkey increased the export of grain and legumes by 21.2 percent in the first 8 months of this year compared to the same period of last year - up to nearly $5.58 billion.

Turkey’s export of grain and legumes for August 2021 exceeded $783.1 million, having risen by 43.9 percent more compared to August 2020.

In the last 12 months (from August 2020 to August 2021), Turkey’s exports of grain and legumes amounted to $8.26 billion.
