The volume of cargo transshipment in the Turkish port of Ambarli amounted to 13.9 million tons in 9M2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, over two million tons of cargo were transported by ships under the Turkish flag through the port of Ambarli, while 11.8 million tons were transported by ships under the flags of other countries.
The ministry reports that the Turkish port of Ambarli transshipped 8.2 million tons of transit cargo in 9M2021.
It is noted that the ports of Turkey handled 286.3 million tons of cargo in total since beginning of 2021.
In particular, during the reporting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 22.2 million tons.
Also, cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons.
In addition, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled over 57 million tons of transit cargo.
In September 2021, the ports of Turkey in total handled 32.8 million tons of cargo.
It is noted that cargo transportation through the ports by ships under the Turkish flag in September 2021 amounted to 2.4 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.
According to the ministry, Turkish ports handled 6.9 million tons of transit cargo in September 2021.
